Land Use Training: Goal 9's Economic Opportunity Analysis Wednesday, December 14, 10:00 am - 11:30 am Virtual (via Zoom) |
|
Many cities and towns across Oregon are forecasting the amount of land required for jobs. These forecasts have direct impacts on our urban growth boundaries, comprehensive plans, local livability, and decisions about development on commercial and industrial lands. 1000 Friends of Oregon invites you to this virtual land use training focused on economic development, an Economic Opportunity Analysis (EOA), and connections between an EOA and an urban growth boundary. You'll come away with information to questions like: - What is an EOA?
- What data and assumptions are considered credible in EOAs?
- How do I, as a community member, engage in my community’s EOA?
- Once an EOA is adopted, what kind of development should you expect to see in your community?
The training features guest speaker Leigh McIlvaine, the Department of Land Conservation and Development's Economic Development Specialist, and guest moderator, Robert Liberty, a land use and transportation planning consultant and a former Executive Director here at 1000 Friends of Oregon (not to mention a former Metro Councilor and Chair of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area Commission). Registration is required, so make sure to sign up to receive the Zoom link. |
