It's a beautiful state, Friend.

Between Valentine's Day, Oregon's Birthday, and the fact that the relatively mild winter means there are already flowers blossoming in our backyards, February is full of reasons to love Oregon. Of course, our state's unique land use planning program also has a little something to do with it.

In Salem, the short legislative session is keeping us on our toes. Our Lobby Day was last week (more on that below), and we continue to work toward agreements that would fund the Oregon Agricultural Heritage Program, mitigate wildfire hazards, limit sprawl development, preserve farmland for farm use, and address climate change.

In Portland, the Residential Infill Project has moved another step closer to a final vote, and, we hope, passage. As a member of the Getting There Together coalition, we're also working with Metro to finalize recommendations for a transportation bond measure this fall. 

Also in the coming weeks: We'll be at the Small Farms Conference in Corvallis this weekend. We're working with an HB 2001 implementation stakeholder group in Bend on an exciting new "small home" code. We're assembling the cohort for for our next Southern Oregon Land Use Leadership Initiative. We're selecting our 2020 Gerhardt Intern. We're hiring our first-ever Major Gift Officer. We're convening our Farmer Advisory Committee. And so much more.
